7 Steps to Transition

Obtain the Published Standard
Purchase ISO 9001:2026 from ISO or your national standards body (ANSI, BSI, DIN, AFNOR).

Conduct a Gap Analysis
Compare your current QMS against the new requirements. Focus on Clauses 4.1, 5.1.1, 6.1, 7.3, and 10.1.

Update Your Quality Policy
Ensure the policy explicitly references organizational context and strategic direction (Clause 5.2).

Address Quality Culture Requirements
Develop behavioral evidence of top management promoting quality culture and ethical behaviour (Clause 5.1.1).

Restructure Risk Documentation
Reorganize Clause 6.1 documentation to align with the new three-part structure (6.1.1, 6.1.2, 6.1.3).

Update Awareness Training
Add quality culture and ethical behaviour to employee awareness programs (Clause 7.3).

Contact your certification body early — ideally for 2027 or early 2028 — to secure scheduling before the 2029 rush.
