ISO 9001:2026 Certification-Body Question Checklist

A source-governed prompt list for getting organization-specific answers without assuming a universal transition date, audit model, certificate rule, or price.

Why this checklist exists: ISO confirms that ISO 9001:2026 is published and directs certified organizations to their certification body for transition information. The questions below help you capture that body's own documented position for your certificate cycle. They are not a transition policy or audit prescription.

Use in a meeting, email, or account review. Save the reply with its date and source.

Certificate and scope

  1. Which of our certificates, sites, scopes, and activities does your current information cover?
  2. What remains valid under our current certificate while we review ISO 9001:2026?
  3. Which written notice, rule, or program document governs the advice you are giving us?

Timing and audit arrangements

  1. What transition milestones, booking windows, or audit arrangements does your organization currently publish for our certificate cycle?
  2. Can you explain whether a future transition activity could be coordinated with our surveillance or recertification cycle, and what conditions would apply?
  3. What information is still pending from accreditation, scheme, or internal program governance?

Controlled review and evidence

  1. Which official version of ISO 9001:2026 should we use for our controlled review?
  2. What evidence would you expect us to retain to show that our response to the published edition was deliberate and proportionate?
  3. Which topics should we clarify with you after comparing our QMS against the licensed text?

Commercial and support matters

  1. What fees, day estimates, training options, or support services apply to our organization, and what assumptions sit behind them?
  2. Which questions should be sent to our account manager, auditor, technical contact, or accreditation contact?
  3. When will you notify us if your published guidance changes?

Keep the answer trail usable

Record the question, responder, date, evidence link, decision owner, and follow-up date. If a response is verbal, send a short written confirmation rather than treating memory as a controlled source. Keep a separate line for facts from ISO, the certification body, and your own implementation decisions.

Start with the ISO 9001:2026 published-standard record, then use the confirmed-changes overview to distinguish public themes from licensed-text detail.
